We recommend a shop in Whitstable called Dance Wardrobe which is next to the Playhouse Theatre. There is easy parking at the back in Middle Wall car park. Telephone No: 01227 772 583. Lynne Gibson (the proprietor) already holds stocks of our uniform requirements and will fit shoes and leotards for the school.
Nursery & Pre-Primary 1:
Girls: White leotard, white skirt, pink leather shoes with pink elastics, white or pink crossover.
Boys: White plain t-shirt or Hasland t-shirt, navy cotton PE shorts, white ankle socks, white leather/canvas shoes with white elastics.
Pre-Primary 2:
Girls: Pink short-sleeved leotard, pink Voile skirt with 3" Hem, pink leather/satin shoes with pink elastics, white or pink crossover.
Boys: As for Nursery/Pre-Primary 1.
Nursery & Primary Tap:
Uniform as above with black canvas tap shoes (Girls) and black canvas lace-up tap shoes (Boys).
Ballet:
Grades 1 & 2:
Girls: Lavender sleeveless leotard & belt, pink socks, pink leather/satin shoes with pink elastic, white or pink crossover.
Boys: White short-sleeved leotards, navy shorts, white socks with white elastics, white leather/canvas ballet shoes.
Character:
Girls: Black skirts, pink/lavender/fuschia ribbon, black Katz low-heel character shoes.
Boys: Black jazz shoes.
Grade 3 & 4:
Girls: Mulberry sleeveless leotard & belt, pink tights, pink leather/satin ballet shoes with pink 1" nylon ribbon.
Boys: White sleveless leotard, navy cotton stirrup tights, white plain long socks, white leather/canvas ballet shoes.
Character:
Girls: Skirts as for Grade 1 & 2, black Katz cuban heel character shoes.
Boys: As for Grades 1 & 2.
Grade 5:
Girls: Navy short-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink leather/satin shoes with pink 1" nylon ribbon.
Boys: As for Grades 3 & 4.
Character:
As for Grades 3 & 4.
Grade 6, 7 & 8:
Girls: Delphinium cap-sleeved leotard, pink tights, pink canvas split sole bloch shoes with one end of the elastic pre-sewn to the shoe.
Boys: As for Grades 3 & 4.
Please note that split-soled shoes are not allowed for Grades 1-5 or Vocational Grades in examinations.
Vocational Grades:
Girls: Navy thin-strap leotard, pink convertible tights, pink satin soft shoes (Inter Foundation), soft pointe shoes (Inter and above), pink satin pointe shoes.
Boys: White sleeveless leotard, navy cotton stirrup tights, white long socks, white canvas shoes.
Modern & Tap:
Primary & Grade 1:
Girls: Red cotton leotard with cap sleeves, white tap socks, black canvas tap shoes.
Boys: White plain t-shirt or Hasland t-shirt, navy cotton shorts, white tap socks, black canvas tap shoes.
Grade 2:
Girls: Suzie-Q velvet keyhole leotard of your own choice of colour, tap shoes as above.
Boys: Black cotton muscle-back leotard, black jazz pants, black jazz shoes, tap shoes as above.
Grade 3 - Advanced:
Girls: Suzie-Q velvet keyhole leotard of your own choice of colour, black cotton stirrup tights, black jazz shoes (suede sole, laces for Grades 3 & 4, elastic sides for Grade 5 and above), black tap shoes (Capezio teletone) (Festival students could wear the Buckle bar tap shoes with teletone taps), black classic jazz pants (tap only). Intermediate & Advanced only - plain tight-fitting t-shirt.
Boys: As for Grade 2, men's version of Capezio tap shoe.
